Nutcracker is confusing on so many levels.
Ben (Frank) quit to do a church play then was let back onto the cast.
Steak Night received 4th place in our region at the regional one-act meet.
God Father Dross will now be played by Wesley.
Due to a mix-up in the paper work, we will not be going to Thespian Con. 2007.
The above news sucks.
We’ve spent over $4000.00 on The Nutcracker so far… that is more money than we’ve ever made off of a play in the history of The Hurricane Players since I’ve been here.

We can’t do ‘Dentity Crisis… but we have some great alternate choices. The Nutcracker rehearsal went… o.k. we were all tired and it wasn’t very structured. However, we did get a better picture at who’s who and I think the chemistry in the sub-set of cast I am in is good.

I hope to have a thespian officer’s meeting soon… We’ve been left out of the loop this year… it doesn’t feel normal.

So, the play didn’t arrive today. They’ve shipped it… but until they review it: no auditions. Ms. Rurh is in charge of casting and directing this un-known play… not the thespians, as was earlier promise/thought…. However, there is still hope for ‘Dentity Crisis… plus Ms. Ruhr is rather awesome. I hope they get Aligood to go over the script… he knows that people in Monroe, GA can be a little more open-minded then expected.

So, one of those Aaron twin overheard a very honorable and nice someone say something along the lines of: I’m sick of Schwegler and Ryley acting like they run drama…. This person thought that we had asked Ms. Ruhr if we could do a one-act play. We did not do this… What we did:

The thespian officers asked Ms. Morgan what the one-act was.
She replied that we were going to be performing The Nutcracker in December and that she didn’t have any current plans for a competition play.
We expressed our interest in doing a one-act competition play.
Ms. Morgan asked if we had any plays in mind and we came up with the play ‘Dentity Crisis.
Ms. Morgan ordered the play and said that she would read it and tell us what needed to be edited out for content… but that the direction of the play would be a Thespian Troupe thing.
At the first Thespian meeting we presented the idea to the troupe and they were largely in favor.
At that same meeting Ms. Ruhr was present and introduced herself… adding that she would like to help out with drama stuff.
The officers were if-y on doing a play without major guidance, so Christa and myself went to Ms. Ruhr to ask for help and to get some Thespian ideas from her. We did this because Ms. Morgan was very busy with The Nutcracker. Also, since the play was about 3 days away from arriving to the school, Ms. Ruhr asked when we were planning on having auditions. We told her that we had planned on holding preliminary improv-style auditions some time this week. We came up with Thursday as the day and made some posters… which Ms. Ruhr were going to get approved by Dr. Royal.

If there is something ungodly wrong about the above events, then it is unknown by the students involved.

You may see odd signs in the hallways this week…those are our posters for One-Act auditions. So, be there… Thursday… after school.

hey you guyzes! so auditions for one act are on Thursday the 10th in Ms. RAWRS (lol) room on the blue hall. It will be an inprov. audition….so come with your brain on not drugs! If you make the cast, rehearsals will be out of class and more than likely on the weekend..so think about that before you audition!!

Checked today and the scripts will more than likely be arriving either Thusday or Friday *crosses fingers*! (:
